Hello, I’m Kate Boadu - founder of Jimmy Halfpenny.
What started as a little idea in 2014 has grown into more than 10 years of helping families preserve the magic of childhood!
Jimmy Halfpenny was actually my imaginary friend when I was a child. He represented the adventurous, playful and wildly creative side of childhood - the part of us that believes anything is possible. Fast forward to 2014, and I was a busy working Mum with a growing mountain of my own children's artwork.
I couldn't bear to throw it away, but I knew I couldn't keep every masterpiece tucked into boxes and drawers forever.
So I asked myself:
What if we could turn all that precious artwork into something beautiful enough to keep forever?
And Jimmy Halfpenny was born.
Since launching in 2015, we've created thousands of bespoke keepsake books for families across Australia and around the world, transforming children's drawings, paintings and creations into beautifully designed books that can be treasured for generations.
And as a Mum to three beautiful children of my own - I know just how quickly childhood disappears.
That's why I don't believe children's artwork is clutter.
It's the little pieces of childhood you'll wish you could hold onto forever.
And our job is to help you keep it.
